AcCord

Danila Logvinenko, 2022
Installation
An embryo perceives sounds differently than a born person. It feels the mother’s heartbeat cycle in addition to its own. These sensations can be re-created by transmitting sound impulses through changes in vibrations and light.
AcCord is an interface for alternative perception of sound. The title of this installation refers to both a musical chord and an umbilical cord. Hearing limitations are a metaphor for the mother’s womb. Since the viewer cannot use speech to communicate, they expand their communicative experience through a new form of dialogue.
Go inside the installation, put on headphones, and touch the protruding part of the sculpture to feel how the embryo interacts with the outside world.
