# Temperature sensors

For some freight, you may need to observe certain temperature conditions during transit. This is typically done by installing special temperature sensors in the transporting vehicle. RouteQ can receive and process data from such sensors in real time. Their readings are synchronized with GPS tracker data.

Collecting and analyzing data from temperature sensors can help you:

* Monitor the temperature of delivered goods in real time.
* Minimize the time it takes to respond to temperature deviations.
* Obtain data and tools for incident investigation.

## Terms of Use {#terms}

RouteQ supports receiving data from the following devices:

* [Navtelecom](https://navtelecom.ru/ru/) via the [FLEX protocol](https://wiki.navtelecom.ru/ru/home/developers);
* [Wialon](https://wialon.com/ru) via the [Wialon Retranslator protocol](https://help.wialon.com/ru/wialon-local/2504/user-guide/management-system/retranslators).

You're free to purchase, install, and configure the sensors based on your specific requirements.

Temperature sensor data is stored in RouteQ for no longer than three months.

## Setting up and using the sensors {#how-to}

If your vehicle is equipped with temperature sensors, you can transmit data to RouteQ and monitor compliance with temperature requirements on your routes.

To enable temperature monitoring for your company, contact support.

### Setting up the sensors {#how-to-settings}

1. Connect the temperature sensors to the GPS tracker installed in the vehicle using either a wired connection or Bluetooth.

2. Set up data transmission from the GPS tracker to RouteQ using the selected protocol — [FLEX](https://wiki.navtelecom.ru/ru/home/developers) or [Wialon Retranslator](https://help.wialon.com/ru/wialon-local/2504/user-guide/management-system/retranslators).

   To do this, contact support or use the API.

### Using the sensors {#how-to-usage}

1. [Plan your route](https://yandex.ru/routing/doc/en/vrp/index.md).

   For a vehicle, specify the IMEI number of the GPS tracker to which the temperature sensor is connected.

2. [Upload the route](https://yandex.ru/routing/doc/en/vrp/solution-export.md) to Track & Trace.

3. While the route is in progress, monitor temperature changes in Routing Workspace or via the API.

When the route is completed, all connected temperature sensors will be removed from it, so you won't receive notifications from them. Sensor data will be stored and available for you to view.
